Visiting Lopez Island and Shaw Island
Lopez Island is often referred to as the friendliest island in the San Juans. Columnist Susan Lynne Hamilton recommends that readers visit Lopez Village for shopping and specifically names the Just Heavenly Fudge Factory. I know I’m sold already. She also makes mention of the Lopez Island Historical Museum, which apparently has large boats out on the grass for kids to climb around in and explore. Sounds like a winning activity for families with children. She also recommends activities for families on Shaw Island.
